NEWS Bimini Expedition Yields Compelling Evidence of Two Ancient Harbors In late May 2008, a team of explorers accompanied by a filmcrew making two documentaries found clear and compelling evidence that the shallow water just off the islands of Bimini, just 50-miles from Miami, has two submerged ancient harborworks. Drs. Greg and Lora Little were accompanied by an experienced dive team from Canada who specialize in films of underwater wrecks and submerged ruins. At the formation commonly called the Bimini Road, the team found multiple layers of stone blocks, examples of support stones under huge blocks, and other compelling evidence that the structure once served as an ancient harbor. The Bimini Road has been mired in controversy since 1968 when it was initially asserted to be a remnant of Atlantis. The team believes that sea levels indicate the formation was used as a harbor around 3000-4000 B.C. when the sea levels were about 12-feet lower. A little known area to he south of the Bimini Road, first reported in 2005, showed the most compelling evidence. Dubbed the Paradise Point Pier by archaeologist Bill Donato and Dr. Lora Little in 2005, the formation actually consists of a deep sandy area with two parallel lines of elevated stones running perpendicular from the island. The elevated blocks form a harbor enclosure. The blocks are piled into layers that extend 6-8 feet off the bottom and show clear evidence that they were deliberately placed. The two documentaries will show on The History Channel and on a Canadian network in late 2008. Humans in the Americas Over 40,000-Years Ago: Evidence Increases Since 1997 evidence that the Americas were inhabited by modern humans has been accumulating from both excavations and DNA research. The newest evidence was released by geoarchaeologist Silvia Gonzalez based at Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. Gonzales performed three-dimensional laser scans of human footprints found in volcanic ash at the Valsequillo, Mexico site. Gonzalez's findings confirmed that the footprints were made 40,000-years ago by people fleeing a volcanic eruption. In the book Ancient South America (Little, Van Auken, & Little, 2002) the controversy surrounding Valsequillo was mentioned. In the 1960's two mexican archaeologists found stone tools at the site, located 75-miles southeast of Mexico City. US Geological Survey geologists conducted a series of four tests to date the artifacts. Their results, published in the journal Quaternary Research, dated the site to as early as 250,000-years ago. In addition, there are several other South American sites that date to the 40,000-years ago range. These include Pedra Furada and the Grotto of Hope, both in Brazil. DNA research shows human migration pattern of Indonesia opposite of what theories assert A team of researchers from the University of Leeds (UK) have found that rather than people migrating from Taiwan to Indonesia and Malaysia about 4000-years agoa theory asserted by archaeologiststhat people actually entered Taiwan from these other areas at least 10,000-years ago. The mtDNA research found that the first human arrived in the Indonesia areas at least 50,000-years ago. In the book Ancient South America (Little, Van Auken, & Little, 2002) the evidence of the migrations in this area showed that the accepted migration from Taiwan was not the actual case. In fact, DNA evidence in the early 2000s clearly showed that the South Pacific was inhabited as early as 28,000-years ago. Zechariah Sitchin Added to ARE's Ancient Mysteries Conference October 2008 Conference Promises Stunning News On October 9-12, 2008 the Association for Research & Enlightenment will hold its Annual Ancient Mysteries Conference in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This year's line of speakers for this popular event has been enhanced by the addition of famed author/researcher Zecharia Sitchin who will share his unique vision of the hidden history of mankind and the end times with the audience via a live video feed. The lineup of speakers also includes the following individuals and topics: Andrew CollinsFamed British researcher and science writer Andrew Collins will present on three areas of his research. In the 1970s and 80s Collins extensively investigated the crop circle phenomenon and his best selling book, The Circlemakers, is being re-released in America by ARE Press. Collins will present his first-hand knowledge of how and why some of the crop circles have been made. Collins will also provide a stunning update on his now-confirmed Cygnus Theory as it relates to the Giza complex in Egypt. This topic of Andrew's presentation will become international news, but will not be publically released until the conference. Michael Faught, Ph.D.Dr. Michael Faught is one of the world's foremost underwater archaeologists. He was the head of Florida State University's prestigeous Underwater Archaeology Program and is considered to be the authority on now submerged archaeological sites around America's coast. Dr. Faught has been directly involved in the discovery and excavation of Clovis sites, dated to 10,000 BC, that have been found at depths of 100-feet off the coast of Florida. It is a great honor having him present his research findings. Gregory Little, Ed.D.Dr. Greg Little, a psychologist turned explorer, will present stunning new discoveries about America's Mound Builders. Author or coauthor of several Cayce-oriented books, Greg will show the newest information available including mound sites that have only recently been discoveredincluding Florida's ancient canal building culture, the discovery of a 4000 BC culture that built massive donut-shaped elevated rings along America's southeastern coast, new information on America's oldest known mound site, and an explanation of why evidence of the first Mound Builders is submerged along the coast. Lora Little, Ed.D.Dr. Lora Little, author/coauthor of several Cayce-related books will present the newest evidence in the ARE's Search For Atlantis Project focusing on the ongoing research in the Bahamas. Lora will detail the 2008 mapping of over 70 potential sites found on a small area of the Great Bahama Bank. In addition she will present more evidence from Andros and findings from the newly discovered portion of the Bimini Road. This will be the first presentation of 2008 research projects. John Van AukenJohn Van Auken is considered to be one of the foremost experts and speakes on Edgar Cayce topics and is the Editor of the ARE's Ancient Mysteries Newsletter as well as author or coauthor of dozens of Cayce-oriented books. John will present parallels between Cayce readings on India, Egypt, Maya, and Atlantis topics and compare them to modern knowledge and lgends. He also will present an overview of Cayce's vision of the ancient world. James MullaneyJames Mullaney is an astronomy writer, lecturer and consultant who has published more than 500 articles and three books on observing the wonders of the heavens. Formerly Curator of the Buhl Planetarium & Institute of Popular Science in Pittsburgh and more recently Director of the DuPont Planetarium, he served as staff astronomer at the University of Pittsburgh's Allegheny Observatory, and as an editor at Sky & Telescope, Astronomy and Star & Sky magazines. His 40-year mission as a "celestial evangelist" has been to "celebrate the universe!" - to get others to look up at the majesty of the heavens, and think about Who made it all and Who keeps it all going!
